Security Enhancements on Optimahealth.com

Protecting the security and confidentiality of our members’ information is one of our top priorities at Optima Health. We routinely review and update our systems to ensure the safeguarding of member information continues to meet the highest industry standards.

Beginning March 2017, new security enhancements will be in place on optimahealth.com. These enhancements may require members to update their password when signing in to their secure account (if their current password does not match the heightened standards).

Password requirements are to protect your personal health information.

Please note the following information about passwords:

  • You may change passwords as many times as you like. Please be aware that you may not re-use a recent password. This is for your safety.
  • Your password can be reset online by visiting Optima Health and selecting the Reset Password or Forgot Password links.

Passwords must have 8 or more characters and 3 of the 4 criteria:

  • One Upper Case Letter
  • One Lower Case Letter
  • One Number
  • One Special Character ~!@#$%^&*_-+=`|\(){}[]:;'<>,.?/

When do I need to update my password?

We encourage you to update your password at your earliest convenience.

Beginning in March, you will be prompted and required to change your password.

How do I change my password?

** After updating your password, you should receive an email confirmation. If you do not receive an email, please go to the Change Contact Info page and update your email address.

** If your Sentara MyChart and Optima Health accounts were linked in the past, your password will be also be updated on the Sentara website.
